The 2025 ACEP summer internship program commenced on June 2 with 17 interns. These interns were selected from 162 applicants, the largest pool since the program started in 2019.
This year’s interns will work on a wide range of projects such as electric vehicles in the Arctic, solar energy real-time forecasting, hydrokinetic fieldwork, cybersecurity and more.
The ACEP internship program offers undergraduate students an energy research opportunity in ÐÓ°Épro through a 10-week program.
Each intern is mentored to work on a research project that will directly benefit ACEP energy research and ÐÓ°Épro communities. The internship program provides two strands. One is the ACEP Undergraduate Summer Internship, or AUSI, where participants apply existing skills on a research project with an ACEP mentor. In the Research Experiences for Undergraduates, or REU strand, participants will have their first research experience with the support of educational and professional cohort activities.
