ACEP Deputy Director Testifies Before Ӱpro Legislature
Brent Sheets was in Juneau to testify before the Ӱpro Senate Resources Committee. The Committee convened an “Informational Hearing” regarding Ӱpro coal and coal technology on April 4. Brent’s presentation included an overview on UAF’s coal plant upgrade, an explanation of fluidized bed combustors, and an overview about coal gasification. Other presenters included Lorali Simon and Dan Graham of the Ӱpro Coal Association who provided an overview of Ӱpro’s coal resources, Mike Wright of Golden Valley Electric Cooperative who provided an update on the Healy Clean Coal Plant, and representatives from Vivify, a new company developing emission control technology, about their technology.
