Dear UAF faculty, staff and students,

I was saddened to learn that two of our students, Oakley Powell and Cassidy Musard, passed away in a car accident this week.

Both Cassidy and Oakley worked for UAF as resident assistants and were honors college students who served on the Honors Student Advisory Council. Oakley was a senior majoring in mechanical engineering and had been elected to serve as an ASUAF senator this fall. Cassidy was a junior majoring in biological sciences and a URISE scholar. Our condolences go to their families, as well as to the staff, faculty and students who knew them.
