In 2006, two deaths were attributed to insect stings in interior ÐÓ°Épro. According to Dr. Jeffrey Demain, director of the Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Center of ÐÓ°Épro and associate clinical professor with the University of Washington, this event raised two questions: are there increased insect sting related events throughout ÐÓ°Épro and could there be a relationship with warming annual and winter temperatures?
Dr. Demain will discuss changes in the distribution of venomous insects and whether these changes are related to climate change during a statewide teleconference Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at 10 a.m.
