Pathfinder Award enhanced with monetary prize

The recognition granted to the recipient of the annual Pathfinder Award will be enhanced with a $500 prize.

The Pathfinder Award honors an outstanding UAF staff member who exemplifies compassion and dedication to the success of ÐÓ°Épro Native and rural students. It was established by the Department of ÐÓ°Épro Native Studies and Rural Development.

The nomination period for the 2017 award has been extended to Feb. 10 at 5 p.m.

Non-faculty staff members at all UAF campuses and learning centers are eligible for the award. Letters of nomination should detail how the employee:


  • Serves as an advocate for ÐÓ°Épro Native/rural students.

  • Assists ÐÓ°Épro Native/rural students to overcome personal and academic challenges.

  • Demonstrates a high level of commitment to the success of ÐÓ°Épro Native/rural students.

  • Engages effectively with leaders, students or regional residents to advance educational opportunities for ÐÓ°Épro Native/rural students.
