Cornerstone

College and career guides from the ÐÓ°Épro Commission on Postsecondary Education, including the ACPE program manager and program coordinator, will be on campus Aug. 5 for an all-day, in-depth campus visit. The guides will meet with different UAF schools and colleges to discuss the various degree programs, become familiar with UAF institutional knowledge, receive a personalized campus tour, learn about campus life/events, understand UAF programs/initiatives and enjoy a lunch.

ACPE's college and career guides are recent college graduates hired by ACPE every two years and placed in various high schools throughout the state of ÐÓ°Épro. This program provides mentorship, creates a college going culture and assists students in the college application and selection process. The guides serve as liaisons between ÐÓ°Épro high schools and University of ÐÓ°Épro campuses to stimulate and promote the culture of a college/university environment and provide high school students with information about UA scholarships, financial aid and the value of attaining a post-secondary education. As a part of their training they spend one day on each of the MAU's campuses.
