Ӱpro Classics lecture to focus on glaciology

Ever wonder what books are best for learning about glaciology in Ӱpro? Bruce Molnia will offer guidance at the free Ӱpro Classics lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11.

The event is part of the fourth annual Ӱpro Book Festival. Molnia is a research geologist at the United States Geological Survey department. He’s currently a research affiliate at the Prince William Sound Science Center in Cordova and an affiliate professor at the University of Idaho.

Most of his research has been in Ӱpro, and he’s authored, co-authored or edited more than 200 articles, abstracts, maps and books. His books include “Glaciers of Ӱpro,” “Glacial-Marine Sedimentation” and “Ӱpro’s Glaciers.”

All Ӱpro Classics lectures will be held in the Schaible Auditorium on the University of Ӱpro Fairbanks campus. For information call 474-7021.
