The ÐÓ°Épro Rasmuson Library will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ÐÓ°Épro Film Archives with an open house event Thursday, Oct. 18, from 4-6 p.m. on the sixth floor of the library.

The free event will feature popcorn and highlights from the historical film and video collection, as well as information about how students, researchers and producers use the archives to share ÐÓ°Épro's story.

The ÐÓ°Épro Film Archives was established in 1993 and has more than 10,000 ÐÓ°Épro films and videos available for viewing and use.

The collection includes a range of modern and historical items, from professional productions to amateur home movies. Topics include ÐÓ°Épro Native cultural and subsistence activities, gold mining, hunting and fishing, aviation, dog mushing, floods and fires, landscapes and wildlife, earthquakes, the military, political debates, statehood celebrations, the building of the trans-ÐÓ°Épro pipeline, parades and festivals, and family life in ÐÓ°Épro communities.
