Ӱprons invited to 'purple up' on April 21
April 18, 2017
April is Month of the Military Child, and Ӱprons are asked to “purple up” on April
21 to honor military youth.
Candi Dierenfield, the Ӱpro 4-H Military Partnerships program director, said wearing
purple is a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength
and sacrifices. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military.
Ӱpro 4-H and the Ӱpro Forget-Me-Not Coalition of Service Members, Veterans and
Families will host Ӱpro’s fifth annual Purple Up! For Military Kids. Military support
activities are planned at several Ӱpro schools this week. Events will include military
T-shirt day, camouflage day, and military child and parent lunches.
“We hope everyone will take this opportunity to appreciate and celebrate these young
heroes,” Dierenfield said.
