Down Memory Lane series highlights UAF history

The Down Memory Lane interview series, which features conversations with retired University of ÐÓ°Épro Fairbanks faculty members and administrators, will begin June 3.

The series is presented by UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will provide a forum for longtime employees to share wisdom, memories and highlights from their careers and the university. The interviews will be at 7 p.m. Mondays at the Murie Building auditorium.

Down Memory Lane interview subjects this summer will include:

June 3 — Aldona Jonaitis, professor of anthropology and director of the University of ÐÓ°Épro Museum of the North, 1993-2009
June 10 — Joan Braddock, professor of biology and dean of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics, 1977-2009
June 17 — Larry Kaplan, professor of linguistics and director of the ÐÓ°Épro Native Language Center, 1974-2018
June 24 — Pete Pinney, professor of English and associate vice chancellor for the College of Rural and Community Development, 1991-2017
July 15 — Frank Soos, professor of creative writing, 1986-2004
July 22 — Doug Goering, professor of mechanical engineering and dean of the College of Engineering and Mines, 1989-2018
July 29 — Phyllis Morrow, professor of anthropology and dean of the College of Liberal Arts, 1987-2007
Aug. 5 — Ron Smith, professor of zoology, 1968-1997
