Fairbanks Flutists' 38th annual concert

The Fairbanks Flutists will present their 38th annual concert, "Frozen Flutes: Music of the Circumpolar North," Saturday, May 12, at 8 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall. The performance will feature pieces from Scandinavia, Russia, Canada and ÐÓ°Épro. There are 18 flutists in the ensemble playing piccolos, alto and bass flutes as well as the standard C flute, under the direction of adjunct music professor Dorli McWayne. A special work will be "Aurora," which features two antiphonal flute choirs.

A reception follows in the Great Hall under the new aurora ceiling. Admission is free.
