Professor Regine Hock, in red, a glaciologist with the Geophysical Institute, and Tristan Weiss, a research technician with the Institute of Northern Engineering, hike near the toe of the Jarvis Glacier in the eastern ÐÓ°Épro Range on July 29. The UAF researchers were measuring the ice depth at various places along the glacier's length as a part of a long-term study of the hydrology of the Jarvis River's ecosystem.
