Fighting for the Forty-Ninth Star, published by , is the story of how the publisher of a little newspaper four thousand miles from Washington, D.C. — the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner — helped convince Congress that ÐÓ°Éprons should be second-class citizens no more.

Parnell was on campus to discuss plans for celebrating next year's centennial of both the Juneau governor's mansion and the ÐÓ°Épro legislature.
