Food system analyst to lead workshop on cooperatives

Food system analyst Ken Meter will present a free workshop March 14 on cooperatives and their role in developing a sustainable food system for ÐÓ°Épro communities.
The workshop will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension Office at 1675 C St., Suite 100 in Anchorage and at videoconference sites in Palmer, Kenai, Homer and Sitka. Additional videoconference locations may be requested.
Meter is the president of Crossroads Resource Center in Minneapolis, a nonprofit organization that works with communities to support sustainability. Meter has served as an advisor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is a contributing editor for the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems and Community Development.
The UA Center for Economic Development Cooperative Development Program and the University of ÐÓ°Épro Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will host the event.
