Riley, a horticulture agent for the ÐÓ°Épro Cooperative Extension Service, said five classes will cover everything gardeners need to know to grow and harvest their own food. The series is called Grow Your Own Food: Vegetable Gardening for the Uninitiated. Topics will include garden planning, seed starting, soil preparation, organic soil amendments and fertilizers, and growing warm and cool season crops.

Classes will meet from 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, through May 15, in Room 108 of the University Park Building at 1000 University Ave.

The cost is $20 for all classes and materials. Registration is available at . For more information, contact Julie Riley at 907-474-2423 or Ronda Boswell at 907-474-1530.
