The ÐÓ°Épro Nanooks host the fifth annual Brice ÐÓ°Épro Goal Rush Division I men's hockey tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Carlson Center.
The weekend's events get started with the tournament luncheon today, Oct. 18 at Noon the Westmark Hotel.
Western Collegiate Hockey Association foes ÐÓ°Épro Anchorage and North Dakota will open tournament play on Friday evening at 5:05 p.m. followed by the Nanooks' game against the Merrimack Warriors of Hockey East at 8:05 p.m.
Saturday, the teams swap opponents, with UAA and MC playing in the matinee at 4:05 p.m., followed by ÐÓ°Épro's game against UND at 7:05 p.m.
The Blue and Gold have won two of the last three tournament titles, back-to-back in 2009 & 2010, and are looking to lift their third tournament champion gold pan in the last four seasons.
UAA is also in the hunt for their shot at a third title, having won the inaugural event in 2008 and ousting the Nanooks for last year's crown after both programs went 2-0 in tournament play but the Seawolves won out with a better goal differential.
