Movie Monday features award-winning critique of Jim Crow

The UAF Political Science Department and the University of Ӱpro Press are presenting
the next entry in the documentary film series What Does It Mean To Be Free? with “13th,”
an exploration of Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and the intersection
of race, justice, and mass incarceration that it represents.Next Monday, April 5, at 7 p.m., join us on Zoom to view and discuss this film. UAF political scientist Brandon Boylan will provide a critical introduction and commentary.
The last presentation in this semester-long series will be Monday April 26, at 7 p.m. with “The Look of Silence” (2014; directed by Joshua Oppenheimer).
Participation is free but registration is required. Everyone in and outside of the UAF community is encouraged to participate. .
