Pesticide applicator conference hosted in Anchorage

Pesticide applicators may work toward renewing their certification during a March 5 conference in Anchorage.

The ÐÓ°Épro Certified Pesticide Applicator Conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 107 of the University of ÐÓ°Épro Anchorage Gorsuch Commons. The state requires certification for anyone who acts as a pesticide consultant or engages in the commercial or contract use of a pesticide.

Presentations will highlight bedbugs, carpenter ants, sprayer calibration, label reading, urban forest pests, personal protective equipment and more.

The ÐÓ°Épro Cooperative Extension Service will host the annual conference in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Conservation. Participants receive 6 1/2 continuing education units toward their recertification.
