Rural Nutrition Services hold cooking demonstrations
February 13, 2012

UAF's Rural Nutrition Services (degree no longer offered) students enjoyed a meal featuring healthy ÐÓ°Épro Native traditional foods, kicking off a week of student cooking demonstrations February 6 at the Harper Building. UAF's Reindeer Research Project participated by contributing meat to the dinner.
Rural Nutrition Services is a culturally relevant multidisciplinary course of study that combines nutrition science, ÐÓ°Épro Native knowledge, behavioral health and outreach skills. Courses are taught by teaching teams that include licensed professionals, ÐÓ°Épro Native service providers, ÐÓ°Épro Native elders and guest speakers in a blended-delivery style allowing students to learn, earn university credits, and not have to move from their home community.
