Salmon canning class offered in Fairbanks

The ÐÓ°Épro Cooperative Extension Service will host the workshop for beginning or advanced food preservers. Fairbanks agent Leslie Shallcross will teach the hands-on class from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Harper Building, at 4180 Geist Road.
Shallcross will describe the U.S. Department of Agriculture-recommended processes for canning salmon in jars. Participants will jar salmon and take home a jar of processed fish. Extension will provide all the supplies and the salmon.
