Registration is open through Sept. 30 for the 5th ÐÓ°Épro Seafood Processing Leadership Institute.

The institute provides the technical training, leadership and management skills needed to understand and succeed in the seafood industry.

ÐÓ°Épro Sea Grant's Marine Advisory Program, part of the ÐÓ°Épro, and the University of ÐÓ°Épro's Technical Vocational Education Program sponsor the institute.

The institute offers an intensive 80 hours of professional development in two separate sessions. The sessions are designed for mid-level managers in a seafood plant, such as assistant plant managers, production managers, quality control supervisors, seafood engineers, human resource managers and administrative personnel identified by their employer as having leadership potential. Other individuals who might want to participate include direct marketers or small seafood processors.

More than 50 ÐÓ°Épro seafood-processing leaders from 21 companies have attended the past five institutes.

The course will begin with technical training in Kodiak, Nov. 9-13, 2015. Leadership training will follow in Anchorage, Feb. 29-March 4, 2016. Registrants can also choose to attend Seafood Expo North America in Boston, March 6-8, 2016.
