SMART students reach for new heights

Counselors keep a keen eye on the safety lines while students enrolled in UAF's take turns on the climbing wall in the Student Recreation Center. The four-week program for middle-school kids consists of academic courses in the morning and athletic endeavors each afternoon.
The SMART Academy is funded in part by a Workforce Investment Act grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration and the ÐÓ°Épro Department of Labor and Workforce Development through the UA Office of Academic Affairs' .
