Technology services outage Oct. 14

has scheduled an outage on Oct. 14 to upgrade a utility power transformer. The upgrade requires a power outage for the Butrovich Computer Facility, which houses systems for ARSC, OIT, the UAF Library and others. The 16-hour outage takes most technology services offline, including the UAF website, access to UAOnline, Blackboard and other systems.

The recommends setting up an alternate login to access your Google Apps @ UA email account during this outage. Simply set up a Google-side password at before the outage. This password is different from the one you use to access Google Apps with an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
