Ӱpro Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more
than 40 free lectures, concerts and other events this summer. Here is what’s happening
during the week ahead:
• On Monday, June 25, the Down Memory Lane interview series will include a discussion
with Bob Carlson, UAF professor of civil engineering, 1968-2005. Veteran journalist
Robert Hannon will conduct the interview, which will be at 7 p.m. at the Elvey Building
auditorium.
• On Tuesday, June 26, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature endocrinologist
Dr. Muhammad Ahmed and “The Obesity Paradox.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the
Murie Building auditorium.
• On Wednesday, June 27, the Discover Ӱpro lecture series will present Bob McCoy,
director of the UAF Geophysical Institute, discussing “HAARP: New Frontiers in Space
Science on the Last Frontier.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building
auditorium.
• On Thursday, June 28, the Music in the Garden concert series will host indie/folk
singer-songwriter Emily Anderson. Music begins at 7 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical
Garden.
