West Ridge holiday open house offers fun, food and sales

The �Ӱ�pro will host a West Ridge holiday open house and First Friday event Dec. 5 from 2-6 p.m. in the Elvey and Akasofu buildings.

The event will feature sales on books, printing, clothing, maps, qiviut and a wide variety of gift items from the Geophysical Institute, �Ӱ�pro Volcano Observatory, GeoData Center and �Ӱ�pro Sea Grant. Some discounts may apply.

Guests may enjoy refreshments, giveaways and door prizes.

The Geographic Information Network of �Ӱ�pro will have several hands-on science activities. The National Weather Service and Mather Library will give tours of their operations. The �Ӱ�pro Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research will have an information booth.

Kimberly Cummins holds a navy GI hoodie, available for $25. They also come in gray and pink. Supplies are limited.

Limited edition Geophysical Institute coffee mugs are on sale for $10.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking will be free on UAF’s West Ridge from 2-6 p.m.
