Week’s events: Arts talk, Dr. Zink, voting lecture, jazz music

Ӱpro Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week of July 31-Aug. 6:

  • On Monday, Aug. 1, the Tall Timbers interview series will feature a conversation with community arts leader June Rogers. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will lead the discussion, which will be at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of UAF’s Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility.
  • On Tuesday, Aug. 2, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature Dr. Anne Zink, Ӱpro’s chief medical officer, discussing “Ӱpro’s Health Scorecard: Moving Toward a Healthier Ӱpro,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Wednesday, Aug. 3, the Discover Ӱpro lecture series will host journalist and historian Dermot Cole, on “Ranked Choice Voting: Will it Work for Ӱpro?” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
  • On Thursday, Aug. 4, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature the Fairbanks Community Jazz Band at 7 p.m. at UAF’s Georgeson Botanical Garden.
