Message from the Dean

It is a pleasure to convey that Dr. Krista Oke has accepted the offer for the tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Fisheries. Krista completed her PhD at McGill University, conducted multiple postdocs, and is currently a research assistant professor at ÐÓ°Épro Pacific University. Her research focuses on understanding organisms’ responses to environmental change, and she aims to advance ecosystem-based fisheries management of ÐÓ°Épro fisheries. Our thanks to Peter Westley for chairing this faculty search and to committee members Courtney Carothers, Kristen Gorman, Andrés López, Lindsey McCulloch and Megan McPhee. Krista will be based at our Lena Point facility with a start date of May 2026. Please join me in welcoming Krista to CFOS.
