All Indigenous Events at UAF
The Festival of Native Arts provides cultural education and sharing through traditional
Native dance, music, and arts. The Festival continues the ÐÓ°Épro
student-led tradition that began in 1973 of bringing together artists, performers,
and performance groups in a celebration of Native cultures.
Indigenous Peoples' Day honors ÐÓ°Épro Native people, culture and knowledge. The unanimous support for this special day acknowledges how the contributions of ÐÓ°Épro Native peoples and Indigenous knowledge enhance education provided by the University of ÐÓ°Épro. Indigenous Peoples' Day is recognized on the second Monday of October.
To pay tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans and ÐÓ°Épro Native people, the University of ÐÓ°Épro-Fairbanks joins the country in celebrating National Native American Heritage Month.
