VCR support offices

The ÐÓ°Épro Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship (Center ICE) is the technology commercialization arm of UAF, working with campus inventors to protect their work and ensure it reaches the broadest possible markets, and also helping innovators, entrepreneurs and small business at any stage start and grow through services, resources, expertise and connections.

The Animal Resources Center (ARC) promotes excellence in biomedical, biological, and agricultural sciences by ensuring the highest standard of animal care following sound scientific and ethical principles. ARC prepares faculty, staff, and students to properly acquire and use animals in a humane, safe, and ethical manner ARC also educates the public on the importance and value of the animals used in our programs.

The Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization (OIPC) is the stop for any student, staff or faculty interested in moving their ideas and innovations into beneficial applications with societal impacts.

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) serves as the primary resource for faculty, staff, and students to education, evaluate, and interpret policies regarding research integrity and the responsible conduct of research. Oversight, policy and training areas include animal care, biosafety, human participants, export controls, ethics and land use.
VCR internal resources
The ÐÓ°Épro CESU is a collaborative effort between universities, institutions, and
federal agencies designed to facilitate research. The ÐÓ°Épro CESU focuses on Arctic and Subarctic anthropology, landscapes, ecology, archeology, and
physical and biological sciences.
The Vice Chancellor for Research has made limited funds available for UAF faculty,
staff, and students who are publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals, and in
rare cases, book chapters, but who do not have other funding sources available to
cover publication fees.
Grants and contracts administration
The Office of Grants and Contracts Administration (OGCA) at UAF is the central hub for managing research administration across the entire project lifecycle, from proposal development to project closeout. Its mission is to support faculty and staff through transparent, efficient processes that enhance research and sponsored activities. OGCA’s key functions include proposal preparation and submission, award negotiation and execution, post-award management, policy guidance, faculty support, training in research administration, and reporting.
