Qualtrics at UAF

 

Online survey software

UAF provides unlimited surveys and responses to UAF students, staff, and faculty through the Qualtrics online survey software. To access Qualtrics through UAFs subscription you will need a valid UA login and to be affiliated with UAF. Anyone can participate in a survey once it has been created and published by the eligible user.

 

With Qualtrics, you can create online surveys, and polls with advanced functionality, and easily see results as they come in. When you create a form, you can invite others to respond to it using any web browser, even on mobile devices. As results are submitted, you can use built-in analytics to evaluate responses. Results can be easily exported to a PDF, or Word document.

FAQs

  • Active UAF students, staff and faculty are permitted to use this tool. See below for UAF access to Qualtrics.
  • University of ÐÓ°Épro Anchorage (UAA) students, staff and faculty are required to use access.
  • University of ÐÓ°Épro Southeast (UAS) does not have access to a UAS supported subscription at this time. Individuals will need to register directly with (costs vary).
  • Eligibility: You must be a student, faculty or staff of UAF.
  • A valid and current UA email address (@alaska.edu) and current UA password.
  • Web browser (i.e. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, etc)

  1. Using your preferred web browser, go to
  2. Select "SSO UA I&A."
  3. Log in with your UA email address and current UA password.
  4. Once you are logged in, you will be taken to the Homepage of your Qualtrics account. Qualtrics is now ready to use.

  • - Support for technical issues and training assistance provided by the Qualtrics support team. This feature is available to all UAF users.

Service is available 24 hours per day. Exceptions include: scheduled maintenance and unplanned outages.

Access to Qualtrics is provided to the UAF community, on behalf of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, at no cost to the UAF student, faculty or staff. 

This service is maintained and supported by UAF Nanook Technology Services. Requests for support may be submitted anytime via the Get Help page.

Qualtrics Account Deactivation:
Your UAF account at Qualtrics will no longer be accessible when your UAF username and password become inactive.

User Security Agreement:
UAF requires that all surveys/studies conform to standards set by FERPA and HIPAA and any other legislation or legal requirements. Data about respondents’ identities must be kept strictly confidential and must not be used for purposes outside of research as approved by the UAF Institutional Review Board (IRB) (if applicable). Qualtrics does not conform to compliance standards of other regulated data types such as export control information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

By creating and using a Qualtrics account through UAF you are agreeing that you WILL NOT collect information of the following types (unless approved by the UAF Institutional Review Board) and that, even if collected, you WILL NOT use data of the following types in any way that violates any national or local policy related to individual privacy and security:

  • Personnel information
  • Proprietary data that should not be shared with the public
  • Personally identifiable patient information
  • Personally identifiable student information
  • Passwords
  • Biometric data
  • Fingerprints
  • Social Security Number (SSN)
  • Personal identification (PIN) codes
  • Checking account numbers
  • Savings account numbers
  • Credit card numbers
  • Debit card numbers
  • Driver's License Numbers
  • Employer taxpayer identification numbers
  • State identification card number or passport numbers
  • Any other numbers or information that can be used to access a person's financial resources
  • Any other numbers of information that could be used in a manner constituted "identity theft"
